Yup... the comic is back up and running, finally, after over a years hiatus. I always knew i would pick it up again, it was just a matter of time. I've already blogged ont he comic page the reasons why i suddenly stopped posting: read loss of income which forced me to pick up more hours to cover the house budget, RL stuff, the strong desire to spend my free time doing something else other then writing and drawing a comic that had taken over my life and general burn out after seven years. not only did the comic go bye byes for a long hibernation but also in interest in drawing anything other then quick random sketches.

meanwhile i did throw myself into some fibre art, craft stuff that i had been dying to try/ pick up again. Starting with my old love of cross stitch, then moving onto cloth doll making which I adore! Got that out of my system, though i still haven't completed the Terinu plushie I originally set out to design. Went into knitting... of all things... dog jumpers! Cause they're quick, being smaller then human sizes, and i have a basic pattern book that gave me lots of scope for playing. And I could sell the things when i finished and thus more income, if only a little. Got that out of my system and discovered crochet...taught myself using youtube videos and created first off, a hyperbolic coral reef which I populated with a small army of felt octopi that I also created during my doll splurge. The i worked on several different crochet square designs, began work on a huge afghan which i now don't like so won't finish, over half way on a second afghan that I do like and will finish. made some knitted guantlets for family and friends somewhere in there too.

Somewhere in july I decided to finally act on one of my dream posessions and purchased an asian ball jointed doll, a super dolphie (over 60 cms tall) boy doll from a company called Dream of Doll. I bought two more msd's (mini super dolphie-> around 40 to 44 cms tall from a much cheaper company all so i could have fun designing and making clothes for them. Weird as I wasn't into dolls as a kid. the last one i bought is gray skinned and purposely picked to embody a ferin character of mine. not Terinu though, not the right face for my fierce little guy. No intention of purchasing anymore, which is just as well as they are fraggin' expensive.

Did nanowrimo last year and crossed the finish line well over the required word count. Still haven't finished the story though as I'm at cross roads with where I want to go with it. Damn thing has got a life of it's own and it was threatening to eclipse Terinu as my main work so i had to call a halt to it so i could get back to the comic.

And there you have it. Now I'm back to the comic. Although I'm taking care this time not to wrap so much time in it that I burn out again. So part of my down time will still go into my craft stuff. Even so I'm working on keeping to two updates a week for the most part. So far so good. one more page to pencil for chapter 23 and then I'm heading into the final chapter for this story arc.

Enjoy.

Still here.

Another week that looked like it was going to be relaxed turns out to be exactly the opposite. Will i ever find time to finish these character pics. (Three down, several part way through.) I've missed another update due to the chaos that was last week. I'm seriously considering taking a block of annual leave to try and catch up art wise, story wise, garden wise and housework wise. (My house badly needs an enema!) I have about seven weeks owing to me so I have plenty to take. The problem is trying to find a block of weeks that won't give my boss arrythmias. We've been bleeding out with staff. And I can't blame them for leaving. But I won't go into the joke that my job has become. Needless to say it's nigh impossible to get holiday cover and the unwritten rule at present is YES you can have holidays IF you can convince someone else to work all your shifts. Sucks!

Our new comic site is stable. Yay! Much more stable then at the old server. Now I just have to find the time to upload the massive amount of stuff still waiting to go up. oh yes... and fix the upload bug so I'm not reliant on Veg to upload my pages for me.

have been doing some more art for the calendar. I'd love to post it here but I'm trying to be firm with myself and hold off untill the calendar is printed near the end of this year. I'll try to upload some of the odd bits of other things I occassionly get the time and inspiration to do.

Site is down again.

Yup... as usual without any warning what so ever. The Terinu site is officially missing in action... AGAIN! Sorry peep's.. I have NO control over this. I can't reach the good folk at Drowtales either to ask what's going on as the whole Drowtales site where my comic is hosted is also down

But there is a solution... Terinu is currently live in a beta version with a brand new format on a brand new server. I wasn't going to announce this until we were ready to make it all official. But if you want to you can access the comic in it's shiny new skin at [link]

Take note: This site is UNDER CONSTRUCTION! Not all the buttons work. The donation button is bugged and won't work until we figure out what it's problem is.

Buuuut... There is a brand new characters page which you can check out which finally lists ALL the characters. Though the expanded profile pages for the main characters are still unavailable.

Check it out!

New Art.

Wed Mar 7, 2007, 10:25 PM
My web site is screwed again. i can't upload to it even though it's now back up and running. I'll sit this one out a bit longer to see if full restoration is in the works.

In the mean time, since my DA page is attracting a bit of traffic reffered from my web page, now is as good a time as any to upload a bunch of new (ish) art. This is mostly the 2007 calendar pieces. It's been over three months since the calendar went on sale and sales have been pretty good, certainly worth the effort.

For anyone looking for the most recent page of the comic... open up the gallery page sitting over there down on the left and click on anything starting with chapter 20. there should be only one, but if things don't return to normal by Friday there will be another. So be sure to check the page numbers to get them in the right order.

Currently I'm pencilling and inking pages 20 to 36 of the current chapter and rewriting chapters 22, 23 and 24 to stream line them and get rid of some of the rubbish that's ruining the pacing.

Terinu Site Down.

Thu Jul 13, 2006, 5:56 PM
first noticed the problem when I tried to upload the next page of my comic to the Drowtales server which hosts it. I couldn't link to the ftp site even though the page was up. I waited til the next day before emailing Kern (my host) just in case it was a temporary thing.

Today the site is down all together along with the all of Drowtales and it's hosted domains. So here is a link to as much as I know:

(Cut and paste the link to the forum thread.)

This is posted for any of my regulars who know about my journal and are looking here for the answer. Hopefully the site will be back up and running before the end of the day.

On the bright side I'm about to head out to the printers with the next issue of Terinu which will be on sale next week. Happy dance... it's been over 18 months since the last one was published. I want to put out 4 in quick succession to catch up.

Beware the Pirate Ship PE for they will rape and pillage you with their awesome art!
